Mission Statement: “To enhance the well-being of America’s veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.”

About The American Legion  With a current membership of nearly two million veterans, The American Legion was founded in 1919 on the four pillars of a strong national security, veterans affairs, Americanism and youth programs. Legionnaires work for the betterment of their communities through more than 12,000 posts across the nation.

If you have served on federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces since December 7, 1941, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving – you are eligible for membership in The American Legion!

*Because eligibility dates remain open, all active duty, Guard, & Reserve members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to join The American Legion at this time, until the date of the end of hostilities as determined by the government of the United States.

**U.S. Merchant Marine eligible only from December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946 (WWII).

SSG Michael A. Dickinson, II Post 257, The American Legion, is a Veterans Service Organization that focuses on supporting our Nation’s Veteran population and our community. Post 257 meetings are held the 2nd Monday @ 6:30 pm at 7475 B Drive N.

Immortalize the legacy of a loved one or yourself,  as we strive to fund our Community Organization facility.  Each brick will be prominently displayed as a permanent monument saluting those who served from our community.  Grand Children and Great Grand Children will be able to walk this Battle Creek display,  and see that YOU stood up and said, “I will go….”

Neither you or your loved one needs to be a member of the American Legion to participate in this Battle Creek area monument of public salute…although we’d love you to join us as we strive to make an impact on our Community.  We are funded by your donations.  We have Served abroad,  and now we Serve the Battle Creek Community.   “Click the Brick” shown here at the top to participate.  If you would simply like to make a donation to our Veteran Organization click HERE.
